Summer break will soon be upon us, and although our children may be excited by a long break from the classroom and homework, us parents may be worried about how to keep them entertained for so long. Don’t approach these weeks with dread – instead use them as bonding time for the whole family.
Last Sunday my husband and I were woken up at an ungodly hour by our lovely children as they kept shouting “BREAKFAST. I WANT TO EAT BREAKFAST!” from the top of their voices at 5 am – I’m pretty sure our neighbours hate us.
One of the things you might not know about me is that I am an architecture lover and if it wasn’t for my even bigger love for dance I would have certainly followed that path professionally. That said, when I heard that Porto was going to open some of it’s architectural gems to the public I was most excited.
After a long week of rain the weekend finally arrived and with it beautiful Spring sunshine and warmth. We decided we would make the most of it and venture north to Viana do Castelo. My husband and I visited Viana for the first time a few years ago before we were married and loved it so we thought it would be a great place to visit again with the children and my in laws who were visiting for the weekend.
Now that Spring has finally arrived nothing better to kick off the season than to take an imprompt road trip with the kids. We decided to start with Barcelos Market last Thursday.
