I love shoes. I love all types of shoes but since purchasing two pairs of mules from Mango at the beginning of this season I haven’t been able to take them off and wear them almost on repeat.
It’s safe to say that I have well and truly embraced them as a staple of my wardrobe. Not only are they surprisingly versatile in what they can be paired with, they’re also comfortable and easy to run around in which, these days, are key requirements for me when it comes to footwear.
If you are unsure how you can incorporate them into your everyday looks or would just like some fresh ideas on how to style them then please read on because today I’m sharing with you a few tips on how to wear mules as well as a little inspiration mood board to get you going.
Keep it Simple
If you want your gorgeous statement mules to take centre stage then the best you can do is to keep the rest of your outfit simple. I love wearing my mules paired with jeans and a crisp white shirt/t-shirt for example. Keep your look simple so your shoes can do all the talking. Of course if your mules are very plain you can then take a little bit more risk with your outfit and wear louder colours or prints.
Show a Little Ankle
There is nothing more flattering than showing a little ankle. This is particularly true, in my opinion, when you wear flats and definitely flat mules. Cropped and midi lengths work amazingly because it allows your mules to take centre stage (as I mentioned above already) and a little flash of the ankles. A win win. I wear my mules with midi skirts, cropped jeans, mum jeans rolled up and culottes.
