Ok, so I have been meaning to take part in this tag since it was first launched by the lovely Sarah aka The Mumzilla. She has recently relaunched it and I was tagged to take part by Katie from Mummy in a Tuttu quite a long time ago too! I’m terrible. Anyway, surely what counts is to actually take part right?
The idea behind the tag is that you find five things that you really love (I can tell you now it was extremely hard for me to only pick five) from your life or around your house, take a photo of them and write about why you love them. Also please make sure you add the badge so other’s who would like to take part can find out where the original idea came from. You can get it here. Oh and don’t forget to tag some lovely bloggers to take part too.
I’m tagging:
Alice from Living With a Jude
Faith from Raising Moonbows
Now let’s get this show on the road…
A few of my favourite things
Camera
Ok, so this is no surprise to any of you really is it? Funny enough my husband bought me my camera (Cannon EOS 7D) for my birthday just before we got married. At the time I had no real interest in photography whatsoever and was very surprised to receive it. How things change! Fast forward a few years and I am now totally in love with photography and even managed to make it as a Photography finalist at the Britmums Brilliance in Blogging Awards 2017! Madness. I’m no professional photographer and anything I know I have found out by myself through trial and error and I love sharing it with you all. If you are curious take a look at some of my non technical photography tips or how I use my iPhone camera to take some great shots and more in my photography section.
Lipstick
This is a lifetime obsession for me. I think that ever since I was old enough to wear make up I have favoured lipstick over any other make up. I think it might have something to do with my big dark lips! You will never see me wearing any kind of light or nude shade though. I love bright lips and adore wearing red lipstick.
Here are some of my favourite at the moment:
My daughter’s ‘babies’ – most commonly know as shells
If you follow my Instagram you will know all about ‘babies’. My daughter has an obsession with collecting anything small and calls her collectables ‘babies’ (sweet no?). Every time we are at the beach she fills my pockets with ‘babies’ and after being washed thoroughly (it’s really hard to take the fishy smell out of them) they are placed in these cute little copper and glass tea light holders and displayed proudly in our living room. I love them because she loves them and because they go beautifully with the rest of the decor!
My old Ballet Shoes
Ballet and dance were part of my everyday life for more than 25 years! Dance was my life, my everything from a very young age and the reason I moved to England when I was only 18. These are the last pair of point shoes and as battered, and quite frankly smelly as they are I just cannot part with them.
Intertwined Necklace engraved with my Children’s Names
I wanted a necklace with my son’s name ever since he was born but back then I was sure I would have at least another child so I waited to get one. So when my daughter was born I ordered myself a Merci Maman necklace with both their names engraved and I have worn it pretty much every day since. I love it and it is without a shadow of a doubt my favourite piece of jewellery and one I’m reluctant to ever take off (much like may engagement and wedding rings).
So there you have it. Five of my favourite things. What are some of your favourite things? Let me know in the comments below.
Love, P

These are all so beautiful! I love that necklace and your daughter calling little shells “babies”! Too cute. Your pix are stunning, wish I picked up a real camera more often to attempt to learn to take better snaps. Great post x #stayclassymama

Oh my goodness. I love the necklace. I have something I want to do with a ring in the future, so it has reminded me of this. Some great favourite things and memories attached to them. #StayClassyMama

Wow! I can’t believe you manage to make the crustaceans your daughter picks up off the beach look so photogenic. You truly have the eye. But it is cute too. #StayClassyMama

I love that you have included your ballet shoes! I was a ballet stage manager for 3 years, and the ballet life never leave you.
Thank you for sharing this happy list. <3
I love the idea of the necklace and the camera X #stayclassymama
Very sweet. I love the idea of the necklace. I have also (recently) fallen in love in with ballet. While I don’t imagine I’ll ever get to pointe shoes, I love taking my weekly ballet class!
