In Portugal we don’t celebrate Shrove Tuesday with pancakes. In Portugal is Carnival on Tuesday and tradition says we put on our fanciest of fact dresses on and take to the streets to celebrate and have fun until the early hours of the morning. It’s not a national bank holiday but most people don’t work and school is closed.
Celebrations start way before Tuesday and in fact my children have been celebrating and dressing up since Friday!
Now, I must confess we don’t celebrate by partying into the early hours of the morning anymore but we go out (weather permitting) during the day and join in the celebrations.
This week’s photos were taken over the weekend. The children dressed up and little one even convinced me to have a go at painting her face but unfortunately the weather wasn’t great so we had to bring the celebrations indoors.

Here is last week’s #LivingArrows in case you missed it.
Love, P

They love dressing up don’t they! You did a much better job of face painting than I would have done. The celebrations sound great. Monkey is only just starting to get into fancy dress and likes to go out in it now!! #LivingArrows
