Summer style updates to make now

Summer is well and truly here and like any fashion conscious woman and busy mama I have been searching for simple Summer style updates to give my summer style a well deserved boost. No need for a whole new wardrobe or spending lots of cash.

I find that sometimes the simplest of things can make a huge different and so I have put together this list to see us right through the Summer.

Summer style updates to make now

1. Cover up in style

Wether you are heading to the beach of hanging around the pool side do so in style and comfort. Most women will wear a pretty and light kaftan but what about wearing an oversized shirt, a fun jumpsuit or a cool cotton dress?

2. Maxi dress

The maxi dress is a great Summer staple. This year Summer trends such as off the shoulder, bold stripes and romantic ruffles have taken maxi dresses to a whole new level and will ensure you stand out from the crowd. Maxi dresses are perfect to take you from brunch to the beach or from the beach to sunset drinks.

3. Show some skin

Don’t save the lovely low back dresses and cut out tops for the evenings. They are great for showing off your lovely sun kissed skin. I am not a lover of showing lots of skin but love wearing clothes that subtly reveal just the right amount. Dress down dresses with a great pair of flat sandals or team your tops with a great pair of jeans or a midi skirt for effortless style.

4. Great accessories

No need to spend lots of money in a whole new wardrobe. Great accessories can be just what you need to update your style. They are like the ‘icing on the cake’ and can transform the most basic of outfits into a stylish ensemble. This season I’m loving cat eye sunglasses, statement necklaces and cuffs.

  1. I always wear a jumpsuit over my bikinis, its easy to get on and off, so its perfect! I would love to try maxi dresses, but Im tall and always struggle to find ones that fit well, which is a shame…. I adore a backless top in the summer too, I’ve got a long tattoo down my back which I love so I always like to try and show it during the summer months. #stayclassymama

  2. Ooo these all make me think glamorous holiday thoughts! I am a big fan of maxi dresses…they are so fab for my pregnancy bod as well. I think they’re magic, they (and my harem pants!) are the only things that fit me whether I’m pregnant or not! Love the little jumpsuit for beach coverup #stayclassymama

  3. These are great tips! I love oversized shirts for a casual and easy look. I think maxi dresses look great on other people but I’ve never been able to pull them off myself, I think I am just used to always having my legs out haha. #ablogginggoodtime

  4. love these style images! anything that can be layered works for me as we don’t always have the most reliable summers here! A shirt knotted at the waist over a maxi if it gets cold gives the dress a different look 🙂

  5. Ah I love the over-sized shirt idea and of course the maxi dress. I’m also partial to a statement necklace. All very lovely Summer items! Thanks for the inspiration and sharing with #StayClassyMama!

  6. My summer go to seems to be maxi dresses and gladiators… or it was until baby. Now I worry Ill trip when carrying her so I seem to have switched to denim shorts and flowy tops showing a little skin but have stuck with my gladiators. Ill save the maxi dresses for me time
