5 UK Affordable Holiday Treasures

Peak District

Many of us start thinking about our summer holidays now that Spring is in the air. We crave nicer weather, a break away with our closest people, and just time to recharge the batteries and unwind. But, many of us will think about a holiday abroad. One that guarantees the weather. However, there are some great places to consider right here in the UK. Offering affordable prices but with the same level of beauty and fun. I thought I would share with you what some of them are.

The English Riviera that is Torquay

Torquay

Torquay is an English seaside resort on the English Channel in Devon which is located in South West England. Known for its beautiful beaches it has been affectionately nicknamed the English Riviera. There is also Torquay harbour, which has many shops and restaurants. It really is a thing of beauty and you don’t vene need to leave the UK to see it.

The classic resort that would be Scarborough

When you think about the classic British seaside holiday, you think about penny arcades, pies, stretches of beach and donkey rides. Many flock to popular destinations like Blackpool or Southport, but I think Scarborough is one of the best locations to witness when it comes to that classic resort holiday. It is a North Sea coast in West Yorkshire, and it certainly has many features to offer a couple or a young family looking for that fabulous classic holiday in the UK.

The forgotten coastal resort of Lytham-St-Annes

Lytham-St-Annes

If you want beaches and want to stay up North, then why not consider Lytham-St-Annes? It a beautiful place on the Lancashire coastline, and it isn’t too far away from the hustle and bustle of Blackpool if you do want to experience that sort of destination. Lytham is a little quieter, but you still have the seaside classics and beautiful walks to enjoy.

Camping in the Lake District

The lakes are a real popular destination for people to enjoy, especially if you love the great outdoors. Lakes like Windermere and iconic sights such as the Beatrix Potter museum helps you to really enjoy this part of the country. Camping is one of the most popular things to do it, but not all of us have the right type of car to hold all of the camping gear. A quick look online at infographics like Every Road on Earth in One Straight Line and a click through to the car hire option could help you to get a more suitable vehicle for your holiday plans. Camping is so much fun and can feel like a real adventure for children.

Hiking in the Peak District

Peak District

Finally, you have the fun of the Peak District, known for it’s amazing scenery and walking possibilities this could be a great destination for a holiday this year. The country town of Edale offers some cute B&B accommodation, and hiking across some of the glorious countryside will give you some amazing memories to last a lifetime.

I hope that this has given you some holiday inspiration for the summer ahead.

Love, P

  1. Lots of places I have always wanted to go to but not got to yet, but never heard of Lytham St Annes, it looks beautiful and I like the idea of a quieter version of Blackpool. Now on my list. So many staycations to be had. #stayclassymama
