#TheSimpleThingsThatMakeMeHappy with Lighthouse SS17

lighthouse children and women coat review - walking towards the sea together

If you have followed my blog and Instagram for a while you will know how much I love spending time outdoors (mainly at the beach) with the children so when Lighthouse got in touch and offered to send us some beautiful coats form their new SS17 collection to review we have of course jumped to the opportunity.

Lighthouse SS17 Coats review

Lighthouse’s new SS17 collection has a big range of coats in a variety of Summer colours, and coastal inspired style. The new collection is both stylish and understated making it perfect for a day at the beach, a picnic in the park and/or a stroll around town.

All their coats are fully waterproof, windproof, breathable and super light weight. The coats are as light as feathers and I love that about them.

Rayna Waterproof Parka Coat

I chose the Rayna waterproof parka coat in Midnight because of it’s very stylish design and 3/4 length. I think it’s very flattering and I love the drawstring at the waist as it makes the coat look less boxy and more feminine. I’m a sucker for detailing and the Rayna coat does not disappoint with it’s gorgeous brass toggles and poppers and the way the hood and waist strings are finished to look like nautical knots. The chambray lining is also gorgeous and very trendy.

The longer length is also great for protecting my bottom from getting wet when I’m at the beach with the children and want to sit down on the damp sand to play with them. Trust me when I say a wet bottom is definitely not a good look!

Another thing I love about this coat is that it isn’t shinny like most waterproof coats I have seen around. Here I styled it with my beloved mom jeans, t-shirt and birkenstocks but I have also styled it with skinny jeans, whit shirt and espadrilles for the school run and running errands in town. It’s the perfect lightweight Spring coast for any setting. This coat is a great new addition to my beloved wardrobe.

Little Lighthouse Rain Coats

Lighthouse very kindly also sent the kids gorgeous coats from their SS17 Collection. My son was sent the Sailor rain coat in sunshine and my daughter the Phoebe rain coat in Blush.

The coats are stunning and fit them like a glove. The colours are bright and the striped lining adds a gorgeous contrast to the coats. The coats are extremely lightweight and they can easily be folded away and stored in your bag once the kids are hot enough not to need them on anymore. They are fully waterproof, windproof and breathable making them perfect for the unpredictability of Spring weather.

They have been wearing them pretty much everyday since we received them because they are also perfect for Spring’s chilly mornings and evening.
