Barcelos Market, Portugal – A beautiful day out

Now that Spring has finally arrived nothing better to kick off the season than to take an imprompt road trip with the kids. We decided to start with Barcelos Market last Thursday.

Barcelos is only a little over a 1hr drive North from Porto which makes it perfect for a short day trip with the kids. For those of you that never heard about it, Barcelos market is on every Thursday and it is said to be the largest open air market in Portugal and Europe.

Here you can findΒ all the diversity of popular arts and crafts, from pottery, to embroidery, weaving and basketry, wood carving and the forging of iron, as well as flowers, fresh fruit and vegetables, and traditional cakes.

We had such a good time! The kids loved it and almost convinced us to adopt a bunny!

If you ever come to Portugal, make sure you plan a visit to Barcelos.

Love, P
